In 2019, Ms. Nuruljannah Razib was left with traumatic brain injuries and injuries to her spine, hands and face after the motorcycle that she was travelling on as a pillion collided with another. Ms. Nuruljannah was a paramedic trainee who loved to travel and led an active lifestyle before her unfortunate accident.

Earlier this month, the High Court of Singapore approved a settlement payout of $3.8 million to her parents. The amount is believed to be among the highest reported settlements in motorcycle accident claims in Singapore. This payout can now help the parents provide care for their daughter for the rest of her life.

Ms. Nuruljannah’s parents were represented by lawyers from Shengkai International Law Firm.

In 2011, Shengkai International Law Firm also acted as solicitors for a 13-year-old boy in his personal injuries claim after he was left with severe brain injuries after being knocked down at a signalised pedestrian crossing along Jurong East Avenue 1. The judge ruled that the boy was entitled to claim damages amounting to $1.64 million, a sum which was one of the largest payouts for personal injuries claims in Singapore.
